Un equipo SWAT (en inglés: Special Weapons And Tactics,[1]Armas y Tácticas Especiales) es un equipo o unidad de policías de élite incorporado en varias fuerzas de seguridad. Sus miembros están entrenados para llevar a cabo operaciones de alto riesgo que quedan fuera de las capacidades de los oficiales regulares, como el rescate de rehenes, la lucha contra el terrorismo y operaciones contra delincuentes fuertemente armados.

Los equipos SWAT están a menudo equipados con armas de fuego especializadas que incluyen ametralladoras, fusiles de asalto, material antidisturbios, granadas de aturdimiento y rifles de francotirador.
